ABOUT THE BRAND
“It’s not easy to create things that shine with an air of grace, but that’s precisely what we do best.”

Emily Shalant launched in 2020 under the creative direction of Emily Shalant and with Evelyn Anastos as President and Director of Global Sales. From the outset, the brand aimed to design clothing that accompanies women through their most meaningful moments. Versatility is a pillar of the brand’s DNA: a taffeta skirt made for galas, later styled with flats. A hand-beaded top paired with vintage denim and classic dresses that are beautifully detailed without ever being costumey. Pieces designed to live with you, not just hang in your closet.
Today, the brand is carried in over 200 luxury boutiques around the world and loved by stylists, brides, and women of all ages who return to the line season after season. Everything is still envisioned in Emily’s New York studio and crafted in partnership with expert artisans, utilizing exclusive materials and patented techniques. It's easy to make a young, beautiful woman look amazing, but our aim has always been to highlight the beauty in each of us at any age. We credit a lot of our success to our commitment to the perfect fit. Simply put, you don’t need to be a size two to look amazing; our fit accommodates all shapes and sizes.
Every day can be elegant, and that beauty is most powerful when it’s personal.
I worked alongside Evelyn Anastos at a corporate fashion house for many years. We represented different brands but admired each other from across the office. She was President of one division; I was Creative Director of another. We were friendly rivals with a shared respect. When the world shut down in 2020 and we lost our jobs overnight, we turned to each other to build something of our own. There is truly no one else I’d rather work with.
We are both widows—our husbands, coincidentally, passed from the same rare brain cancer. For us, success isn’t optional; it’s essential. We are deeply committed, relentless when needed, and fueled by our genuine love of clothing.
Our first collection of stretch evening separates in luxurious beaded jersey and pearl-embellished tops was worn by the Princess of Denmark to the Queen’s Jubilee. Overnight, her photo circulated across the internet, and suddenly buyers were lined up at fashion week’s Coterie show to see who we were. There was nothing else like it on the market, and everyone wanted in. Today, we hold multiple patents on our beading techniques, ensuring no one can replicate them. One editor once described our aesthetic as a “non-costumey princess vibe”—classic, wearable, elevated, and quietly commanding. It lets you own the room without saying a word. We’ve since expanded into dresses and gowns—because sometimes, a woman simply needs the dress.
Every piece begins with a timeless, classic idea reimagined through detail, texture, and craftsmanship. I design each collection in New York, collaborating with master artisans to create what we think of as modern heirlooms: versatile, collectible, and made to be worn again and again.
We hope you’ll share your photos and stories with us. Hearing from our customers is a joy. Please keep in touch on Instagram or email—we love seeing how you style your pieces. Nothing means more than knowing you felt like your truest, most confident self on your special day. It’s genuinely our privilege.
